About the Role
EliteCareers is seeking an experienced Python Game Developer with specialized Panda3D expertise for an innovative, high-impact remote contract role. In this position, you will leverage your advanced game development skills to design and optimize complex 3D simulations that train next-generation AI models.
No prior artificial intelligence experience is required. Your deep domain expertise in 3D pipelines, physics, and simulation logic is what will shape how advanced AI models learn, reason, and solve real-world problems.
Key Responsibilities
3D Simulation Design: Develop, program, and optimize immersive 3D game simulations and environments using the Panda3D engine tailored specifically for AI training datasets.
Code Integration: Implement, maintain, and debug high-performance, robust codebases utilizing both Python and C++ integrated with Panda3D.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with multidisciplinary technical teams to translate project requirements into scalable, clean technical architectures.
Version Control Management: Maintain structured development workflows using GitHub, managing branch strategies, code reviews, and pull requests seamlessly.
Performance Optimization: Ensure seamless cross-platform compatibility and optimize rendering/simulation performance across diverse hardware configurations.
Technical Documentation: Document core architectural decisions, workflows, and code logic clearly to support long-term collaborative development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory Engine Expertise: Proven, hands-on professional experience developing with Panda3D. (Note: Experience with other 3D engines like Unity or Unreal cannot substitute for this specific requirement).
Programming Proficiency: Advanced, production-level coding skills in both Python and C++.
Version Control: Deep familiarity with git workflows and GitHub for repository management and collaborative code reviews.
Core 3D Graphics Knowledge: Strong command of 3D graphics pipelines, rendering loops, physics simulation logic, and cross-platform optimization techniques.
Communication & Autonomy: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, with a proven track record of working independently in a fully remote environment.
Problem-Solving: Sharp attention to detail with an analytical approach to debugging complex simulation environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior development experience building specialized simulations, serious games, or virtual environments used specifically for machine learning or AI training.
Experience optimizing complex 3D assets to run efficiently across varying hardware profiles.
Background working within distributed, fast-paced Agile project teams.
